Boho Wedding at Lake Bomoseen Lodge in Vermont | Ailee + Brian
This rainy fall wedding at Lake Bomoseen Lodge in Vermont is the perfect example of just how gorgeous a destination wedding can be, rain or shine!
Today’s blog is a special one as we’re covering Ailee and Brian’s wedding at Lake Bomoseen Lodge in Vermont! If you’ve been following me for a bit then you may recognize these two from their fall engagement session in Winona. For their fall wedding day though they chose to have it on Lake Bomoseen for a one of a kind destination wedding experience in Vermont!
Getting Ready, First Looks, and Portraits
One of the major highlights of Ailee and Brian having their wedding at Lake Bomoseen Lodge is that they were able to have every part of their wedding day there. From getting ready, to the moment they closed out the dance floor, they were able to stay on location which made things simple and stress free for them. The fall vibes were on point from the start of the day with Ailee and her wedding party gals all wearing flannels to get ready. After both Ailee and Brian were dressed and ready it was time for first looks. First was Ailee with her wedding party, then with her brother and father, and then finally with Brian. You could really feel the joy and excitement in the air when these two saw one another for the first time.
With having a first look on their wedding day we were then able to take a majority of their portraits prior to their ceremony which was huge for their timeline! We started things off with couples portraits in the rain as Ailee and Brian wanted a moment to read their private vows to each other. The rain made things all the more romantic and emotional and I am so here for it. Following their vows we took some more portraits on the dock followed by portraits on the porch out of the rain for their pup Huck to join in. From there we had just enough time for indoor portraits, wedding party portraits, and family portraits before their ceremony was set to begin.
Their Rainy Day Ceremony
Though we had plenty of rain for Ailee and Brian’s wedding day, that didn’t stop us from having their wedding ceremony outdoors! Another huge plus to Lake Bomoseen Lodge as the venue for their wedding is the large tent they have available for situations like this. The tent gave us plenty of space to work with while also letting Ailee, Brian, and their guests enjoy an outdoor ceremony looking out over the lake. The ceremony was filled with joy which quickly overflowed into happy tears as Ailee walked down the aisle, and yes I teared up a bit too! It was so incredible seeing how happy both Ailee and Brian were, but also all of their friends and family in attendance.
Once the ceremony had concluded we had a clearing in the rain which we quickly took advantage of. We made our way out into the woods for some newlywed portraits surrounded by the fall colors. After a few more portraits out on the lake it was time to get their reception underway.
Wedding Reception at Lake Bomoseen Lodge
The indoor space at Lake Bomoseen Lodge was the perfect setting for Ailee and Brian’s fall wedding with its warm and inviting wood tones. That combined with the boho decor of the reception gave such a cozy and comforting feeling to their celebrations. The reception began with Brian’s sister singing and playing guitar for the first dance which was SO sweet. The rest of the night was filled with laughter, love, and a TON of dancing before the newlyweds finished things off with a sparkler send off!
Ailee and Brian are the type of couple whose love for one another is legitimately infectious. I’ve known these two for a while now and being able to capture their wedding day celebrations at Lake Bomoseen Lodge was something that I’ll always cherish and love to look back on!
