Romantic Summer Proposal in La Crosse Wisconsin | Brodie and Jorden

When Brodie reached out about his proposal in La Crosse Wisconsin to his now fiancée Jorden in December of last year, to say I was excited would be an understatement.  Surprise proposal are always SO much fun. Planning this proposal with Brodie was no exception!  Brodie knew he wanted to propose on a little anniversary getaway weekend in La Crosse. Because Jorden LOVES taking photos, he knew he could book a photoshoot without ruining the surprise. Little did Jorden know she was actually helping to plan her own proposal!

Surprise Proposal in La Crosse Wisconsin

When planning the surprise proposal we knew we wanted Brodie to pop the question out by the river. Because of this we started off the session by walking around town. I wanted to give them time so that Jorden and Brodie felt comfortable in front of the camera by the time the moment came.  One of my favorite parts of planning a proposal within the session is it's easy to get your partner to dress up! Jorden came to the session looking good, and feeling confident in her white dress.  Little did she know this would also be the outfit that she would be proposed to in!

After a few minutes of walking around the park I had Brodie and Jorden go back to back for a prompt. While Jorden was facing away, Brodie took a step away and got down on one knee!  Jordan was SO surprised and excited and I LOVED that I was able to document this amazing moment for the two of them. 

Engagement Photos at the Charmant Hotel

After taking a moment together at the park in Downtown La Crosse, we walked across the street to the Charmant Hotel to celebrate.  It’s one of my favorite spots in La Crosse for engagement photos. We had so much fun popping some champagne and sitting for a moment to soak in the proposal.  The historic building has SO much character. I had Brodie and Jorden walk around the venue and explore for a bit resulting in some gorgeous engagement photos. Soon after I left them to celebrate on their own at the Charmant.

If you’re looking to plan a proposal I recommend doing exactly what Brodie did!  Plan ahead, reach out to photographers early, especially if you’re planning on proposing in the spring or fall.  Next, create a plan that encourages your partner to get dressed up and look good.  And last but not least lean into the plan.  Know that everything will be perfect and the more present you are the more amazing it will be.  If you’re looking to plan your own proposal or engagement session coming up, you can reach me via my contact page for more information!
