My Top Six Wedding Venues Around Minneapolis MN

Couples looking to get married in Minnesota have a WIDE variety of venue options. Even just within an hour of the Twin Cities there are so many great venues to choose from!  Though I’ve already done venue features for a number of my favorite wedding venues, there are still SO many other beautiful venues I have yet to mention!  Today we are going to take a look at my top six favorite wedding venues in and around Minneapolis Minnesota. 

Why Get Married in the Minneapolis Area

When it comes to getting married in Minnesota, planning a wedding in the Minneapolis area is such a fun way to create a cool experience for your wedding guests.  There is so much to do and explore in this area. Also, being so close to the airport makes guest travel extremely easy. Between the airport, the art scene, the shopping, the breweries, the hotel options, and more, planning your wedding around Minneapolis is one of the best areas in the state to plan a wedding.

The Confluence Hotel

Hastings, Minnesota

First on my list of top wedding venues in and around Minneapolis is The Confluence Hotel.  Overlooking the Mississippi river, The Confluence Hotel is conveniently located in Downtown Hastings.  This all in one wedding venue offers hotel blocks, a bridal suite and grooms suite for getting ready so you don't have to leave the venue at all throughout your day. The rich color palette with a mix of glamour and country vibes makes it such a beautiful venue. With it's 1920's themes throughout, the beautiful river views and it's long history with the town there is so much to love about the Confluence.

The Essence

St. Paul Minnesota

Up next on this list of Minnesota wedding venues is The Essence Event Center. This historic wedding venue is near Saint Paul Minnesota.  The event center was built over 100 years ago and the current owners of the event center took care to ensure the historic building retained its character throughout.   Despite all of the walls being brick, the large windows create a light and airy feel throughout the venue.  The rental includes two private morning suites and kitchenette for you and your wedding party. You can access the spaces at 10am, the start time of your 15 hour rental.  With both indoor and outdoor ceremony space options The Essence is such a great wedding venue for any season!

The Whim Events

Minneapolis Minnesota

In the Northeast Minneapolis Arts District this 15,000 square foot wedding venue is the perfect combination of modern and industrial style.  The Whim Events is decorated with canopy lights and beautiful modern black framed windows.  Inspired by european art and industrial beauty just outside the venue is a beautiful courtyard decorated with beautiful trees.  

The Whim events has two on site getting ready suites. Both with oversized lounge seating and custom built in vanities, this is the perfect all in one wedding venue. With getting ready spaces available and a speakeasy in the basement of the building you can spend your entire day in this space. From getting ready all the way to the after party The Whim Events is the perfect place to celebrate.

Pinewood

Cambridge Minnesota

Just an hour north of Minneapolis sits a 10 acre property with a newly constructed event center. This stunning space can host over 200 guests and is surrounded by thousands of beautiful pines.  This nature focussed wedding venue leans into the surroundings of the venue with its large windows and simple architecture.  No matter the season you are surrounded with stunning views of this pine forest.  The property has a main level gathering hall, two private lounges for getting ready and SO much more.  A fun fact about this wedding venue is that for every wedding that is celebrated at Pinewood their staff plants 50 trees to support reforestation efforts in Minnesota.  Everything about this wedding venue is stunning so no matter where you go it will be the perfect backdrop for your portraits.  

Nicollet Island Pavilion

On the banks of the Mississippi River in Minneapolis, this historic wedding venues was originally built in 1893 as William Bros Boiler and Manufacturing company until it was acquired by the city of Minneapolis in the 70’s.  Eventually it was restored to the beautiful space you see today.  With an outdoor cocktail hour space on the river, an outdoor wedding ceremony space covered by beautiful trees overlooking the water and decorated with string lights and large windows there is a lot to love about this wedding venue.  Last but not least, the venue is within walking distance of the Nicolette Island Inn that offers hotel blocks perfect for all of your guests! 

Woodhaven Weddings and Events

Cannon Falls MN

Last but not least is Woodhaven Weddings and Events. This modern venue is tucked away in the small town of Cannon Falls MN.  With two getting ready spaces, and a beautiful well lit indoor ceremony space this minimalist wedding venue gives you a blank slate to customize the space to your wedding day. With the venue being on a golf course too, there are so many beautiful spaces for portraits!  When it’s nice out there is an outdoor deck for guests to spend cocktail hour or for the wedding party to play bags while getting ready.  Woodhaven weddings and events also has a vast reception space and convenient cocktail bar perfect for large weddings.
