From a Twin Cities Wedding Content Creator If you've been on wedding TikTok or Instagram lately, you've probably seen it, a bride watching her highlight reel the morning after her wedding, still in pajamas, tears streaming down her face. Or a couple posting footage of their first dance before they've even left for their honeymoon. That's not just luck. That's wedding day content creation, and it's one of the fastest-growing services in the wedding industry right now. I'm Chelsea, a Minnesota-based wedding photographer and content creator, and I started offering wedding day content creation because I kept seeing a gap. Couples were pouring everything into their wedding day, the details, the people, the feeling of it all, and then waiting weeks (or months!) to relive it through their photos and video. I wanted to give them something they could hold onto the very next day. So what exactly IS wedding day content creation? Let me break it all down. Wedding Day Content Creation vs. Traditional Photography & Videography First things first, this is not a replacement for your wedding photographer or videographer. Not even close. Traditional wedding photography gives you a beautiful, carefully edited gallery of images, the kind you'll print, frame, and pass down. Traditional videography gives you a cinematic film of your day. Both of those things are irreplaceable, and I will always encourage couples to invest in them. Wedding day content creation is something different. It sits alongside those services as an extra layer of storytelling, one that's built specifically for the way you actually consume and share moments today. Think raw, real, social-media-ready clips. Behind-the-scenes footage. The candid laughter while getting ready. The chaotic joy of the dance floor. All of it captured with the intention of getting it back to you fast. When I'm hired for content creation, I work alongside your other vendors, not getting in their way. I'm intentional about staying out of your photographer's shots and your videographer's angles. My job is to fill in the gaps, capture the stuff that might otherwise go undocumented, and hand it all over to you in an organized, ready-to-post format. What Does a Wedding Day Content Creator Actually Do? I get this question a lot, so here's a peek behind the curtain at what a typical day actually looks like when you hire me for content creation. Before the wedding day, I talk with couples to go over their day-of timeline and make sure I understand exactly what they’re hoping to capture. I always ask what's most important to them, is it the getting ready moments? The ceremony details? The reception energy? Every couple is different, and I want to make sure I'm filming what matters to you, not just what looks good on screen. Then when I arrive the day of, I check in with everyone, get set up, and get to work. From there, I spend the day doing what I love, capturing all of it. The big moments and the little ones. The detail shots. The candid conversations. The dancing. The chaos and the quiet. Once the day wraps, I head home, back up all the footage immediately, and get to work. I organize everything by moment (getting ready, ceremony, portraits, reception, all in their own folders), build out the highlight videos, and send you an email when it's all ready to go. Depending on your package, that could be as soon as 24 hours after your wedding day. You just had the biggest day of your life. Why not be able to relive it the very next morning? The Equipment: Why iPhone + DJI Creates Something Special One thing I always love talking about is the equipment side of content creation, because people are often surprised by it. I film using multiple iPhones and a DJI Osmo Pocket 3. And here's the thing, that's intentional. The content I'm creating is made for your phone screen, for Instagram Reels, for TikTok. It's meant to feel authentic and immediate, not overly produced. The iPhone footage has a natural, real quality to it that connects with people online in a way that heavy production sometimes doesn't. The DJI Osmo Pocket 3 gives me smooth, stabilized shots that look genuinely beautiful, especially for movement-heavy moments like the first dance, processional, or a big venue reveal. The combination of both means I can capture everything from up-close intimate moments to wider, cinematic-feeling clips. (And stay tuned, by mid-2026, I'll also be offering drone footage as an add-on, which is going to take the aerial and venue shots to a whole new level!) The Packages: Finding What Fits Your Day One of the things I love most about this service is that it's flexible. I have three packages built out, but I'm always open to customizing based on what a couple actually needs. The Essential | 2 Hours This one is perfect for intimate ceremonies, micro-weddings, or couples who just want coverage of one specific part of their day, like getting ready or the ceremony. You'll get beautiful behind-the-scenes coverage and a curated selection of reels, all delivered within 24 hours. The Candid | 6 Hours A full digital album of video content, raw footage, candid clips, and authentic moments that cover the bulk of your day. A highlight reel and all raw footage are delivered within 24 hours. The Comprehensive | Full Day Coverage Start to finish. This is the full experience, everything from getting ready to the send-off. You'll receive all raw footage, a 90-second highlight video, a 60-second teaser video, and a final consultation 14 days before your wedding so we're completely aligned on your vision. Delivered within 48 hours. Not sure which one is right for you? Reach out, I'm always happy to talk through what makes sense for your specific day. Who Is Wedding Day Content Creation Really For? Honestly? It's for the couple who wants the full experience. The ones who care about the details, value the storytelling, and want to be able to share their day on their own terms and timeline, not months down the road. It's for the bride who imagines waking up the morning after her wedding and watching back a highlight reel of everything she just lived through. It's for the couple who wants to post a Reel before they've even left for their honeymoon. It's for the pair who wants footage they didn't even know was being taken, candid, real, completely them. This service is an investment, and it tends to attract couples who genuinely want every layer of their day documented and celebrated. If that's you, I would absolutely love to be your content creator. What Couples Are Saying I could talk about this service all day, but here's what one of my brides had to say after her wedding: “We absolutely LOVED working with Chelsea for content creation on our wedding day! If you are looking for someone who will be fun, easy to work with, make you feel comfortable in front of the camera + cheer you on during your special day, Chelsea is your gal! She caught all the moments, both big + small, for our wedding day + we couldn’t be more grateful. Chelsea delivered us a massive gallery of wedding content so quickly + we are so happy to be able to relive all the moments of the day. She’s talented, knows what she’s doing + we would 100% recommend her to anyone.” That reaction, being able to relive all of it the very next day, is exactly what I set out to create when I built this service. That feedback never gets old. Can You Hire Me for Both Photography AND Content Creation? Yes! Absolutely. Plenty of couples hire me for both on the same day. We just have a conversation upfront about priorities, focus, and expectations so that both services feel seamless. Whether you want just one or both, I'll always be upfront with you about what's realistic and what will work best for your specific day. Ready to Add Content Creation to Your Wedding Day? I've been in the photography world for 10 years, and adding content creation has genuinely been one of my favorite things to offer couples. It's storytelling in a new format, and I love getting to be creative in a way that gives couples something truly immediate and personal. If you're a Minnesota couple planning your wedding in the Twin Cities, Winona, Red Wing, Hudson, La Crosse, or beyond, I'd love to connect and chat about what content creation could look like for your day. Get a hold of me today, and let’s make something you’ll want to watch on repeat. Previous Article 4 Ideas for Elevating Your Wedding Guests' Experience from a Minneapolis Wedding Photographer Print 37
