Summer Wedding at Como Zoo in St. Paul | Emily and Alex

Emily and Alex's wedding at Como zoo in St. Paul in Minnesota was the perfect romantic wedding for their hot summer wedding date.

A classic and romantic wedding is ALWAYS so much fun to share. Emily and Alex spent their wedding day at the beautiful Como Zoo and Conservatory in St. Paul, Minnesota. Vibrant florals and classic details surrounded these two as they got married in the gorgeous Sunken Garden at Marjorie McNeely Conservatory. I had such a fun day with these two and am excited to share more about their day!

Details and Getting Ready for a Classic Minnesota Wedding

Emily’s details were so classic and simple. An elegant white heeled sandal with a pop of red on the bottom was the perfect addition to her romantic strappy lace dress. She got ready with her girls and passed out some meaningful gifts to her bridesmaid before getting into her dress and sharing in an emotional first look with both her mom and dad.

Since Alex is a retired cavalry scout, he wore his dress blues complete with his Cavalry Stetson, sword, and spurs. Him and his guys all hung out and played pool. Then it was time for their first look!

Their first look was outside the getting ready space and was absolutely perfect. We cried some tears and took in how amazing Emily looked, and we went into private vows. While holding hands, they both shared words of love and laughter and fully soaked up these moments together.

A Beautiful Wedding at Como Zoo and Conservatory

Before these two said their I dos, we headed outside of the conservatory for their portraits. The landscaping at the Como Zoo and Conservatory is so beautiful and perfect for photos. Emily’s bouquet was definitely showing off, the colors were so vivid and bright - the best fit for this May wedding! We grabbed the wedding party and headed to the only obvious place to go with your friends…. the carousel! Alex got swept right back to his cavalry days while on his horse and everyone had a blast riding around! We roamed around the zoo for some traditional wedding party and ended with family portraits in front of the Palm Dome.

Finally it was time to get these two married! Inside the conservatory at the Sunken Garden, with friends and family watching, Emily and Alex made it official. Now it was time to celebrate with everyone! Colorful, vintage glass vases donned the reception tables while speeches were made and special dances were had. Late night pizza was served to keep the dance floor going while everyone enjoyed their night celebrating the newlyweds!

A great day with two beautiful people surrounded with lots of love and plenty of laughs. The classic and romantic elements and backdrops from Como Zoo and Conservatory added the perfect touch to Emily and Alex’s day. I’m so glad they had me along for this next chapter!
